Terms, in plain language
Ten short sections. If any of this later changes in a way that matters, the version number moves and the terminal asks you to accept again.
1. What you are using
Openfield is a derivatives venue in pre-launch. Accounts settle in USDC on Solana. A deposit is credited to your account when it is final on chain and is held in custody wallets controlled by the venue; a withdrawal is paid to an address you have proved you control, after approval, and only for collateral that is not backing a position. The prices, the confidence attached to them, the margin engine, funding and liquidation run on live market data, and a position on this venue is a position: it can lose the collateral behind it.
2. What Openfield is not
- Not investment advice, a recommendation, or a solicitation to buy or sell anything.
- Not a regulated venue, a broker, an exchange of record, or a custodian.
- Not an offer of a token, a security, a share, a points-for-money scheme, or a promise of any future allocation.
- Not available where using it would breach local law. That judgement is yours, and by continuing you make it.
3. Accounts
You may use the venue anonymously in one browser, or sign in with a wallet signature, an account key, or an email address. A wallet or a key is the account: lose it and the account is gone, because we hold nothing that could restore it. Email accounts have ordinary recovery. We do not perform identity checks and we do not want your documents.
We do not verify identity, so we cannot enforce one account per person and we do not claim to. Creating accounts to farm points, refer yourself, or evade a limit is nonetheless a breach of these terms: the journal makes it visible, the points it produced are removed, and the accounts may be closed.
4. Acceptable use
Do not attack the venue, other accounts, or the venues we read prices from. Do not automate against the API in a way that degrades it for others; the documented rate limits are the limit. If you find a security problem, tell us before you tell anyone else: security@openfield.markets.
5. Points
Points are a record of participation, computed from the public chain by rules published in the documentation. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold or transferred, and do not entitle you to anything. We may change the rules, and we will say so in the changelog before we do. We may remove points earned in breach of section 3.
6. Data and availability
Market data is collected from public endpoints of third-party venues and reference providers and aggregated into our own estimate. It may be delayed, wrong, or missing. The venue runs on a single machine and may be restarted or paused without notice; balances and positions survive a restart on disk and on the hash-chained journal, and payouts stop automatically whenever the books and the chain disagree.
7. Liability
The venue is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from using it or being unable to use it. Deposit only what you can afford to lose: leveraged derivatives can lose the whole deposit, and the parts of the operation that are not yet in place are listed, not implied, on the security page.
8. Changes and termination
These terms will change as the product does, particularly before anything involving real money. Material changes are listed in the changelog and the version number here moves; you will be asked to accept again in the terminal. You can close your account at any time from the account page; we can close accounts that breach these terms.
9. Pre-launch
From 2 September 2026 Openfield runs as a pre-launch. An account is opened with an invite code while the venue says so on the pre-launch page; a code is personal and may not be resold. The account opens in USDC on Solana when it links an identity (a passkey, an e-mail, a wallet or an account key), not on opening, and trades on what is deposited to it. Points accrue by the published table and are not money, credit or a claim of any kind. We collect what the product needs to run (the journal of your account, the identity you linked, the device subscriptions you enabled, the application you sent) and nothing more; see the privacy note. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the venue without attribution or compensation.
